Review Update - Nov 29, 2013

After a few tweaks and a few more rides I've really grown to like this bike more and more. It is time to update my past review. I shortened up a couple of cable housings to a more ideal length, which fixed my shifting issues. Then I added a 180 mm rotor to the front wheel and bled the brakes. Now this bike is everything I expected and hoped for. It is a pretty fast bike and rolls over everything just a little nicer than my 26" bike. For the price it's been for a while now, it's a steal!

This is the best bang for your buck!! I searched high and low and could not find a better deal for a quality low priced bike. It has been a pleasure to own.

Not Impressed So Far - Nov 11, 2013

I have not hit the trail yet and I have a bad feeling about this bike. Right out of the box...the front brake is mushy as can be. The front wheel is out of true by quite a bit. The rear brake drags and the centering procedure does not fix it. Rear shifting needs work too. And the cockpit seems extremely short with a 100 mm stem fitted on a 20" frame. I should have built another "closeout special" handpicking my own components. The sad part is I know better. You get what you pay for and this one was cheap. I will say it was packaged boxed up extremely well and assembly was easy. Updates after a trail ride.

Great Bargain Bike - Aug 26, 2013

I really like this bike. I bought it on a good sale and it was a better deal than anything I saw on ebay and craigslist. Plus, there is always a risk buying a used bike, and less of a risk buying a new one. Seriously, it has good components and rides great. For the price, you won't find a better deal. I'm a totally satisfied customer. If you add on their excellent return policy, it's literally a no brainer.

Good value 29er with room for improvement - May 07, 2013

If you are looking for a 29er to try, like I was, I doubt you will find more bang for your buck than with this bike. It has a fairly good set of components and the weight is reasonable. The Good: The 29" wheels do seem to get a better grip than my 26" bike even though the tires are much less grippy looking. I have tried on ice, snow, slush, mud, etc. The bike also climbs well. The fork is nice and adjustable and soaks up small bumps. Lockout is a plus, I can feel the difference in effort required. Who knew even a fork stole that much power! The tires are surprisingly grippy for how small the knobs are. The Bad: This 10 speed drivetrain is way too finicky. I have 9 speed x7 stuff on my Sette Flite and have not had any issues adjusting it and having trouble free riding. I cannot get this rear derailleur dialed in. The bike would be much better IMO if it was a 2x9. The brakes are kind of week and the levers feel really cheap. Wheels have a little flex, but that's to be expected for this size. Long story short, I like the bike but if I were to spec the components myself it would be 2x9 with x7 or x9 drivetrain and a bash guard. I repeat, I hate the 10 speed sram and love the 9.
