Good gaurd, but Partial protection. - Sep 03, 2014

I am replacing my troy lee designs knee pads which offer amazing protection, and lasted for years. They don't have them in stock or in sizes here so I thought I would try these. They looked good in the picture, but when I got them it was a different story. The shin armor is only an inch and a half wide at the bottom, leaving most of my calf hanging exposed out the side. The shin armor begins about 6 inches up from my shoe which leaves no protection from pedal whips. They are fairly comfy for being new but the buckle above the knee creates a bulge spot that digs into the front of my thigh. I am needing full D/H race protection so given their price, I will have to send them back. They seem to be well built, just not for what I need.

I bought these after my 661 rampages let me down. these are lopro, comfy, adjustable, but most of all they stay in place. As you can see there is no protection of the back of the leg, and the side of the knee is no padded for top tube strikes. Overall I wouldn't buy anything else, these are the best
