Answer ProTAPER 780 Carbon Bar
The Answer ProTAPER® 780 Carbon Bar is weight competitive but purposely overbuilt and optimized for maximum steering precision and durability. With this stiff, wide bar, the front wheel goes where you put it and stays there.
Not only is this component a piece of art, it is also super functional. I crashed into a tree head on after my hydraulic brakes failed! I hit the tree so hard, the front tire burst, I had sealant fluid all over my feet... The Answer carbon bar is undamaged! The only thing that would be better is if it had an air bag... 5 huge, bright & shiny stars!!
I went with the black and white/gray low rise bars and was a little nervous because I have the 1" rise on my demo and lover them as well. When I put these on my remedy they instantly provided more stiffness, easier turning and that stable feel. I ride anything from smooth to rock garden type of riding here in Utah so in some areas it gets tight but I have not clipped a tree or anything else yet which was also a concern over 750mm. I wont go back now that ive gone even wider on my trail bike. It is light and has some grip already on the bar where the stem will go to stop movement. Being that I have both rises now I actually prefer the lower rise that much more over the high personally. I love the price and everything about the bar so i would recommend this bar to the trail or even dh rider.
What can I say. I got this because I ride single speed and the wider you can go with single speed (and still be comfortable) the better. I paired it with the Answer Rove G2 Stem in 70mm. I opted for the 780 bar so that I could cut it down if needed. I did cut it down to 760 which is just right for me. I like it because it has thicker walls than other carbon bars but is light and strong. It soaks up the bumps and I really don't notice any flex.
I put these bars on my trail bike, I love the width and wanted something beefy. They work perfect and have already withstood a crash or two. I recommend them.
Wide stiff light and on sale. Finish looks good in person and they ride so much better than similarly priced aluminum bars, no brainer.
