The Rove FR pedals offer a big, concave platform for maximum control, with a low profile for maximum clearance. 10-10 hex head screws provide added grip and are easily replaced or removed.
These pedals are great and they would look better with a great pair of shoes. Browse our wide selection of shoes to go with these pedals.
I have had these pedals on my bike for about 2 years now. The pins show little signs of wear after this amount of time. I took them off yesterday and was going to check the bearings and grease because they were feeling slow. My first issue was that the service bolt was metric, after getting the correct allen key I tried to undo the bolt and proceeded to strip the bolt. So now I have the issue of a stripped bolt along with a sluggish feeling pedal.
Snagged these to replace the stock pedals that came on my Giant Talon. Prior to putting the Rove pedals on I must have slipped on my flats 5-10 times during a trail ride, mangling my shins to hell. Since putting the Answer Rove pedals on I haven't slipped off once. Even when my foot has slid (under super muddy conditions) the platform is large enough and the studs are rigid enough that my foot moves almost unnoticeably. Worth every penny! Also, the red is pretty sharp too.
Update: I'm the anonymous below from Orange Ca. With a 5/10 shoes, these still feel as if they're brand new. Pins are reliably strong an durable even after using my pedals to prop the bike up on sidewalks. No bearing play even after dropping the bike from a crash(or two, I won't lie). With 44lbs of bike to ride uphills these helps on the upstroke of your pedals like I said before. Worth every penny, specially when it's on sale.
I was hesitant at first to spend on a new set of pedals. Totally worth it. I have never had a better grip while trail riding. Easy to get my foot on, and it stays. If you are on the fence, go with them.
I would recommend this pedal! The amount of the pins on this pedal totally hold the rubber sole of my FiveTen shoes . It is also very comfortable when I pedal because it is wide. Perfect pedals!
They provide a ton of grip, with out tearing apart your shoes. i will say that I have gone off a couple foot jump with crocs on and they still stayed on. Now i have more confidence going downhill without worrying that I will get bearclawed
bought these after the bearings on my azonic magnesium platform something... I dont remember that model because i threw it away already. got these ones though on sale so best to try them out. no complaints. theyre on my SWD Crazy 8 and so far they have been amazing. grips like no other on my 5/10 shoes and feels like clipped on during upstroke.
this was my first low profile platform pedal. not disappointed. great foot feel and I like the fact that the pins are easy to replace.
I bought my first pair of these in 2011 and loved them! I experimented with several more expensive options before coming back. I can say I have not found a better pedal! The spikes work very well and do not have the problems set screws have. They don't break, they rarely come out, and they don't tear the S*^% out of the soles of your shoes. The set I have on my DH bike have had several hard pedal strikes and suffered only scratches. The bearings are super durable! Buy them!!!
I bought these because they were on sale for $40. They are the best upgrade to my bike after my fork and I cant believe how I rode without them. They are nice and wide, and they have a ton of grip (no more slipping off!!). They have sealed bearings, an O-ring between the pedal and the shaft to seal out water, and they come apart to service them (shouldn't need to). These are my first "real" pedals so I cannot compare to more $$$ ones but I cannot imagine a better pedal, especially if you consider the price.
These pedals function very well. They are strong, light, and have good grip. My only gripe with them is the aluminum pedal studs could be a little more sharp.
When I'm not clipped in these are my go-to flats. They are extremely lightweight for how large of a platform they provide. The wide platform+replaceable pins combine for the perfect grip with just about any shoe. Also, the color options allow for a nice cosmetic addition to your ride as well.
I have the gold set and love them! They have a big enough platform to form a solid base without causing too many pedal strikes. I have knocked them a few times and all it does is scrape some of the color off but has not damaged the functionality of the pedal at all. I really like that the pins can be tightened/removed with a small socket or wrench. This eliminates the issue of flattened pins being stuck because you cant get the tool to hook up. I added to some blue loctite to each before installation and havent flattened or lost a pin yet!
I switched from some wellegos that came with my MTB bike. At first sight I thought they were quite large but solid. But after I put them on, I felt more secure in my footing. I wear a size 11 so it worked out perfectly. The good thing is that the rivets are not as sharp as other pedals but don't try falling on them because they still can gash a leg. I purchased the Red color and now it makes my Scott look even more wicked! Nice addition.
Excellent pedals. Light and tough. They grip nicely and have a nice wide print for power transfer and balance. Definitely recommended!
These are "the best" pedals I've used and trust me, I've been through a few. They grip "very well" and have a wide base so you have more of a footprint. I highly recommend them.
I bought these after using Wellgo. The red ones are nice and thin. The grip is excellent and the large platform makes it really comfortable. It's a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for. I'd buy it again.
I've been using these for a year now and they have taken a beating over 1400 miles of trails and flat riding, scraping them on rocks, roots, dirt, concrete - you name it, on my 2011 26" Epic Comp. I've replaced a few pins a couple times from the ample allotment of spares that come with them in the box. At about 16 ounces, these are about as light as you'll get with pedals that have large foot coverage, for great support & fantastic grip. They're worth the extra money over cheaper pedals that won't last. These will.
