Details including the dual-pad adjustment knobs, easy pad replacement, precision ball bearing actuation, and infinitely variable spring tension details ... mean control like you've never felt before. Plus, using any of Avid's Ball Bearing Disc BrakesTM means that you can choose one of their levers with Speed Dial® for sweet, adjustable modulation. Isn't the freedom of choice swell? Avid's Speed Dial® levers for sweet, adjustable modulation. You can't get that on any hydraulic. Last but not least, this year Avid gave the BB7 a tasty new finish, new inboard/outboard adjustment knobs and a beefy two-piece, forged body.

I recently ditched my rear hydraulic shimano brake & plan to do the front as well. I pared this BB7 with the Avid Speed Dial 7 Brake levers. Some say it is a down grade. I chose to do this for reliability and ease of maintenance reasons. I have a 29er hardtail & went with the big 200mm rotor on the rear. I know most of the braking is on the front rotor but again I chose this for longevity & low maintenance. The Brakes pull is smooth and strong, no sudden surprises or overheating with this big rotor. The hydraulics does pull a little longer & with "slightly" less effort but I LOVE the BB7's & plan to do the front soon! Totally worth the price & PricePoint shipped FAST!
