Even with all of the hype surrounding the introduction of hydraulic brakes to the road racing scene, there's still a lot to be said for the simplicity and cost effectiveness of a cable actuated disc brake like the BB7 Road S seen above. Without any hydraulic fluid, there's no need to bleed the system of air, saving you a good deal of time and money. Adjustments are also super easy, with Avid's Tri-Align Caliper Positioning System all you have to do is loosen the CPS bolts and squeeze the lever while re-tightening them. And although the BB7 may not match its hydraulic counterpart in terms of modulation, it still has plenty of braking power to handle nearly any style of riding.
Bought this to put on my NS dj bike. It did the job, was a little skeptical about doing cable instead of hydraulic but it did just fine. Paired it with a Odyssey cable and a Mission Captive shorty lever. Worked good!
