Finicky maintenance, but settled in eventually - Apr 23, 2014

PORTLAND, OR

These guys have required a lot of TLC, although they have settled in after a year of consistent use. Usually pad stiction or air creeping in the lines, however I've found a maintenance protocol that has minimized overhauling them as frequently. A shot of brake cleaner on the pistons, followed by isopropyl alcohol, followed by water. Air bleeds aren't as frequent as they used to be. I like their actuation on the trail. Much more modulation than Shimano, yet they don't require a lot of pressure to stop hard.

A great priced, effective brake - Apr 02, 2014

Mount Gretna, PA

I purchased this to replace a higher-end Elixir brake that had seen better days. Personally, I have had good luck with Avid brakes. This brake modulates well, and you really have to grab it hard to get it to lock up. My experience has been as long as you are decent at bleeding Avids, they work fine. Love the white!
