The Shimano M960 XTR Crankset was unique. Its nine speed rings didn't share bolts so each ring had it's own BCD. Owning one of these beautiful cranksets is a great reason to hold off on upgrading to 10speed. But what do you do when your rings wear out? Blackspire has you covered.

Q: will this middle chainring work with the original xtr outer and inner???!@#%&? Thanks brother for your knowledge (another words i wanna replace my worn 'middle' xtr m960 chainring with a Blackspire superPro?)

Much more durable than stock rings - May 20, 2014

The thick CNCed alloy of these rings is extremely durable, WAY better than the stock XTR rings that came with my M960 crankset. And shifting is flawless! Tip: when the outer ring gets worn on the bottom due to rock & tree bashing, turn all the rings 90 degrees to put the wear out of the power stroke.
