PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Continental Mountain King II 26-inch Folding Tire

The Mountain King is the perfect choice for riders that need aggressive traction with relatively low rolling resistance. This evolutionary jump in tread design from the original Mountain King has been kept in tact, but crafted with a different type of compound to keep costs low.

  • By beefing up shoulder lugs and creating more open spaces in the tread pattern, cornering grip is greatly improved
  • Most affordable version of the Mountain King, but includes the same innovative tread and traction

Continental makes great tires. Those tires go great with a new set of wheels. Our site has a wide variety of wheels for all types of uses.

They are ok. Not as predictable in slides as the trail king, but a nice lighter casing.

These tires are light, I'll give them that. Besides that they have nothing going for them. I went to these from the wire bead Trail Kings (great tire, but heavy) and had nothing but trouble. Poor traction on dry trails, almost none on wet. Two flats and then a deformed casing after slotting into a banked turn, all within 100 miles of riding. Going back to the Trail Kings (ProTection model this time).

The mountain king is a great tire. I chose to use the 2.2 edition as my front. The large knobs down the center keep the tire tracking strait. The large side knobs provide great cornering behavior. Plus the large logo on the side makes for a pretty sight.

Dont use with stans - Apr 23, 2014

Ran this tire both feont and rear and developed what were known in the biking world as ammonia bubbles. Tire was decent. Didnt like the way it handled in the corners. Felt like it didnt want to hold very well. Rear tire wore out very fast. I would look at Maxxis as I have ran both ignitor, ardent, ardent race and love all 3. Oh and no ammonia bubbles to deal with. Happy trails
