Continental Sprinter Gatorskin Tubular Tire

Most tubular tires are reserved for race day rides, but the Gatorskin is a tire that can easily take the mileage brunt the average roadie puts in during the off season. The tread layer is thicker, allowing for a longer ride-life as well as very serious puncture protection, and combined with the Gatorskin sidewall, you're almost indestructible on this tire.

  • Perfect tubular for high mileage daily riding
  • Duraskin sidewalls protect from tearing and sharp object encounters
  • Tough, but still very lightweight.

Love the Gatorskin Tubular tires for weekly training rides. Great feel and durable on our early spring roads.

I've been buying Gatorskins for years. I put about 5,000 miles a year on a set before changing them out with new ones. The old ones that I take off probably have quite of bit of life left in them, but I just choose to put new ones on each year anyway just to be safe. I have no desire to try any other tire.

No Flats - Sep 12, 2013

I have ridden these tires for over 700 miles. They are showing some wear but I have not gotten any flats. I have put Stan's tire sealant in them and with two rides and over 200 miles it doesn't seem to have degraded the performance of the tires. The grip through corners seems adequate but not grippy and wet conditions seem somewhat slippery. If you're looking for a long distance tire to ride without having to deal with flat repair the combination of this tire with Stans should work. I used the Tufo gluing tape for installation and for two seasons it has worked well, though the removal and re-installation was a very big job.
