Good tire for all-around trails - Aug 13, 2014

I bought this tire for my Specialized Rockhopper HT 26" and put it on the back. Great tire for low rolling resistance and climbing. I ran Stans No Tubes and the only issue I had was the sidewalls took a few days to seal because of their super porous make up. With Stan's and no tubes this tire was awesome. I purchased a new sled with 29" wheels and will put this on the back and the Mountain King on the front for better steering performance.

Decent but won't buy again - Jun 14, 2014

I've had nothing but issues setting these up tubeless, 2.4 size. Never had anywhere near the same problem with other brands. After a few weeks with a tube then was able to go tubeless?? Rode nice, good grip, use as a front. Lasted fairly well. Don't plan on buying again based on set up issues, just not worth it.

Don't bother for tubeless - Jun 12, 2014

While these tires aren't noted as being tubeless ready, I have never had a tire leak through the sidewall before. The bead seated well enough but 100s of small pinholes formed in the sidewall. They seemed to be popping up faster than the sealant could deal with them. With a tube the tire has decent traction. It seems to have more rolling resistance than would be expected from a tire like this. Will run this with a tube for now, not too confident in the sidewall though.

Solid Performer - Apr 24, 2014

The Continental X King 29 is a very solid performing tire. It is noticeably more aggressive than the Race King but still a fast tire that I would recommend in looser or muddier trails. Seams to shed mud and debris well and has great hook-up on wet and loose climbs. The X King has more pronounced cornering tread than the Race King and shares the same side wall protection. It is a relatively light tire and I have always had a good experience on Continental tires.

XKING - Apr 23, 2014

I purchased this tire in the 2.2 size. I have used it as a front tire paired with the RK 2.2 and also as a rear tire paired with the MKII 2.2 and also 2.4. This is a fast tire and I use it on hardpack and loose over hard pack. They tire has done well both front and back. The volume on this tire is nearly the same as the RK however the RK is a bit larger when comparing the 2.2 in both versions.

Replaced Stock Bontrager rubber on Trek Superfly 100. Love the grip these bring to the table and similar weight. Running tubeless after a little extra Stans than directed. 4 months and 250 miles, no issues and lots of life left in em. Will replace with same when needed.
