The Candy 3 gets a similar makeover as its brethren but through the use of some less expensive materials, namely cast stainless wings, the cost stays down.
The same cleat as before is included. It offers 6 degrees of float and either a 15 or 20 degree release angle and fits any 2 bolt SPD style shoe.
Best pedals I've ever owned. They are on all my mountain and road bikes. Great platform, look cool, and the easiest clip in in the business. They do tend to wear cleats quickly but better to wear cleats than the pedal itself.
I've been riding Crank Bro for years...but over the past few months, I've been beating the crap out of my Mallet 3s...and on more than one occasion I've almost come to a compete stop after hitting a rock or root. So time to go to something smaller, so I got the Candy 3's in red. They hook up and release great right out of the box. I would advise going ahead and replacing the cleats on your shoes when you get new peddles too.... I no longer have the bashing issues due to their size. My only complaint is that since I don't have as much peddle surface, I'm not able to disconnect on some more technical sections and still peddle thru...but that's my issue and not the pedals.
been using these for several months. light, strong, great style and are a great way to accessorize your ride. I purchased the Blue and the color is holding up well and has yet to show any wear. The Candy 3 sheds mud really well and stays clipped in tight through rocky and root-filled PA trails. Easy to clip in the first time and easy to adjust to if transitioning from SPD-type pedals. I would recommend to friends.
replaced my standard eggbeaters with these in hopes the platform would help getting into them. Great Buy. These are easier to get into and if you don't get in right away you can still peddle on (clipping in right on a climb..) Cost a bit more than the standard ones but worth the $$. I used to slip around every once and a while trying to get into the standard Crank Bros but these eliminated the issue. Even if I don't mate it up right off the bat I can still pedal on without worrying. Worth the extra money. The roll action is smooth on these as well. Had mine for 6 months now. Still feel smooth.
These have got to be some of the best Cross/Mountain pedals out there. Easy in and out. I run them on my cyclocross, hardtal, and full suspension and would never even think about another pedal!!!
These are hands down the best pedals available. Great flotation and easy entry/exit. Extremely durable, which is good since I am abusive with pedals.
I love these pedals. Super easy to clip in and they have adjustable release points depending on which way you face the cleats on your shoes. They do take a bit of force to get them to click in initially but once the cleats wear in a bit clicking in is a snap. I tried shimano pedals and felt like they clicked in too easy and released too easy for my tastes.
