Deda Padded Handlebar Tape
Deda bar tape is quickly becoming a cult classic among the roadie set. Made from special microcellular foam, Deda rolled a Yahtzee when they came up with their recipe. Slightly thicker than traditional cork but not nearly as robust as a gel tape, Deda tape quite simply feels just right. The grip surface has the right amount of tackiness and is very water resistant. On top of that, Deda offers a wide spectrum of color options.
Enough tape is included to wrap a standard set of road handlebars. Deda includes a set of bar plugs as well.
Color selection is good, and the tape is of good quality, but... It's not the most grippy stuff in the world, and I think it's a little slippery when wet. Its elasticity is just right, though, making wrapping easy and tidy.
Best tape there is. Very dense foam--not like the squishy stuff from Profile or many "house" brand tapes. Since it's dense it holds its ability to absorb shock over months and months and months. Wraps easy--very stretchy. Length is plenty for 44mm bars. Only thing I don't like is the adhesive backing--its unnecessary and makes re-wrapping a hassle. Otherwise, this tape is perfect and I don't bother with anything else.
