Q: Can someone verify that the L grip is full length (no shifter) and the R grip is shorter (for twist shift)? Tx.

A: For these both the grips are shortened for gripshifters. You are looking for the Rohloff/Nexus version, which is where one is longer than the other. We currently only carry the GP1 in this style.

I first tried these on a friends bike and really liked them so i got a pair myself and after a few times riding these on mostly fast single track i decided i didnt like them as much. They really keep your hands almost locked in due to the bar ends resting against your pinky(for me at least) If you're using the barends for a different hand position they are quite comfortable and they adjust and good for using when climbing hills. The actual grip is also comfy. The thing that made me give them up was the feeling of not being able to brace myself quick enough if I had to bail or should wipeout and need to react with my hands on tight fast windy trails. I have size small and they fit my hands pretty good and I'm average size.
