As part of Ergon's race series, the GS2 grip is designed for endurance athletes who prefer a comfortable, ergonomic grip with a soft, flexible wing area for your palm and a bar end to provide extra leverage when needed. Ergon made several changes to the GS2 in 2014 that help make it one of the best grips for off-road racing and long, all-day rides. These updated grips feature a new clamp construction which is now compatible with carbon handlebars and a different, more compact bar end that is designed for two fingers, not three. The bar end, which is made out of glass fiber reinforced composite, doubles as the clamp for the grip and can be independently adjusted from the grip to customize the fit to your own individual needs.
These grips changed mountain biking for me. Years of playing sports and getting injured resulted in nerve damage in my legs, arms, and hands. Using regular style grips caused me a lot of pain in my hands, making riding almost unbearable. Fortunately, I heard about Ergon's ergonomic grips. I've been using them for about 10 years now and the only pain in my is after the occasional bail out. I would recommend these to anyone, especially if you have nerve damage or get numbness in your hands from riding.
