Fizik Aliante Carbon Kium Saddle
In every critical respect the k:ium-railed version of the Aliante is identical to its braided carbon brother: It's built with Fizik's patented Twin Flex shell. The exterior shell is a 35g multi-directional carbon fiber shell that surrounds a 15g bi-directional carbon and Kevlar weave interior "hammock". The entire story of the Aliante is this carbon shell: It simultaneously provides comfort and support. Like the carbon version, it has to be ridden to be believed. It offers the supreme balance of comfort and lightness.
Due to skyrocketing materials costs, the Aliante is no longer made with Titanium rails. In place of Ti is a new rail material Fizik calls k:ium. According to Fizik, k:ium offers an 8% weight reduction in comparison to Ti rails, and thanks to its use of Silicium and Chrome, it has better vibration-absorption qualities and more corrosion resistance.
The Aliante is 100% compatible with Fizik's ICS taillights and saddle bags. They literally snap into the rear of the saddle -- say farewell to velcro straps and awkward clamps.
