Giro Hex Helmet 2013
The Hex fuses a muscular, progressive style with the versatility you need for aggressive trail riding. It's a fantastic choice for price-conscious riders looking for a rugged all-mountain helmet that offers loads of premium features.
I've used this helmet for 3 years of hard riding, and it's held up perfectly. The adjustment strap in the back is comfy and never needs adjusting, and the vents are pretty decent as well. Good coverage. The fit is a bit wider (rounder) than other oval-shaped helmets, which is good for me. Not sure why anyone would spend more on the Xen or Xar, this is a fantastic helmet.
I've used this helmet for 3 years of hard riding, including a couple of decent crashes, and it's been excellent. The fit adjuster in the back holds it position and is super comfortable, and all of the stickers and glued-on pieces are holding together fine. Venting is decent too. Fit is more wide (round) than some other brands which are more oval-shaped. Not sure why someone would spend more to get the Xen or the Xar over this.
This lid replaced my old Bell lid that was over 6 years old. The Giro Hex fits like no other helmet I've ever worn or tried on. And, I tried on at least a dozen helmets before choosing this one. Adjustability is a plenty with this lid. Dial in the snugness at the back with the roll of a finger. Plenty of vents to keep the melon cool on the warmest of days. AND, as always Price Point had the smoking deal. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up for this product!!!!!!!
I've been using the Giro Hex since spring 2013 and couldn't be happier! Fit is perfect. It vents and keeps my head cool nicely on the hottest of days. Everybody and their brother doesn't have it my part of the world; and often I have to reach up and make sure it's still on my head!!
Just picked up one of these this spring after trying on several different brands. I love how light it feels on my head. The Hex only took only shortening the straps to fit properly on my head.
