Hayes Stroker Ryde Disc Brake

Hayes disc brakes have been around for more than twenty years and are well known for having excellent performance and incredible value. As one of Hayes' heritage products, the Stroker Series is no longer being made by the Wisconsin-based company, but don't let that deter you from running them. These brakes still provide plenty of power and modulation that rivals their newer siblings. For the Stroker Ryde, you get many of the features found on higher end models (like a radial master cylinder, increased fluid volume, and Hayes' signature aesthetic) wrapped up in the least expensive version. Coming in at roughly 400 grams, the Ryde is an incredibly affordable way to experience the true power of hydraulic braking systems.

Rear and front Prime and stroker Dif - May 04, 2014

I bought this rear brake to put on a hard tail i was building but decided to put it on my XC Bike since i only had the rear brake I decided to buy the front one to match the pair. By my mistake I ended up purchasing the Prime comp front brake and said what the heck it should not matter that much how the brake but after having them both on the bike and being a aggressive rider using a XC bike almost as if it was an all mountain or enduro the stopping power of the Prime comp is definitely superior to this brake like said earlier the stopping power lacks that just something that the Prime comp has to offer for sure. Spend the extra dough and you will not be disappointed

I have been out 3 or 4 times and these brakes have performed good for the money. They came bleed and ready to ride. I would recommend these for a Xc casual rider.

These came with the Price Point build on my Ellsworth Evolution. They do not provide the stopping power of the Shimano XT that I was used to but at half the price, it is very hard to complain. For XC, these are good enough.

No Power & Cheap Feel - Apr 09, 2014

Ran this for about a month before I decided this needed to be replaced. One big issue is they are super under-powered! Pulling on the handles never had any real good pressure feel which transferred to very little power at the caliper and rotors. These came pre-bled with fluid in the lines so I even bled the brakes again with little to no improvement. The over all quality on these are also very low. All the bolts are alloy which results in a very easy stripping ability. I had a handlebar clamp bolt seize and then the head of the bolt stripped out after applying a very small amount of pressure to try and loosen it. Ended up having the cut the bolt bolt out and took multiple emails to get Hayes to replace the bolt.

Great brakes, even for xxl riders - Apr 03, 2014

So i was recommended these brakes, by pricepoint, and i have to say- I really like them. For the money, you really cant beat them- and I'm not a small rider- in fact id say at 265# I'm one of the larger riders roaming the hills. Once broken in, correctly, these brake have way more then enough power to both stop me quickly as well as lock up the rear end if/when i want them to. Been riding on them for about 6 months now, they have been flawless.
