Honey Stinger Waffle Energy Bars
Honey Stinger Organic Waffles makes a great tasting snack. Inspired by Lance Armstrong who suggested Honey Stinger make a version of similar waffles which are sold throughout Europe and eaten by professional cyclists. Honey Stinger Organic Waffles are the the only product of their kind that are certified organic and available in a single-serving wrapper.
The familiar flavor of honey makes Stinger Waffles perfect as a snack food any time. We'd be negligent if we didn't recommend that you try them with coffee or tea.
I love these things. The chocolate and strawberry are my favorite flavors, but they are all good. They are hard to open and eat on the bike so I eat them as a snack or when I stop to rest. They are easy on my stomach and just the right size. Try them you will like them.
I was at mile marker 15 of Piggy's revenge endurance MTB race when I at reached in my back pocket for a snack. I had pre-opened the honey stinger package to more easily nibble on it while riding. The circular waffle doesn't slip from your fingers, the sudden jolt of sugar is released as your hunger quickly fades. My only problem on that day was I could have used three of them. The chocolate waffle didn't work quite as well. I took one with me on the Tour de Picayune endurance race and while the integrity of the snack held up, the hot sun did not favor the flavor.
I really like the taste of these little waffles. Good portion size. My only complaint is that they crumble easily. If I stuff a couple in the back pocket of my jersey by the time I eat them they are sometimes broken up into little pieces.
I bought these because they were on sale to closeout the Lance Armstrong sponsored packages. They are honestly tasty, even if they associated with Lance. Oh, I find them pretty easy to open, actually.
I have been experimenting with Honey Stingers as part of my nutrition for Ironman Lake Placid this summer. So far they have sat well during both long runs and rides. Very impressed with them and tasty to boot.
I've used these for 30 mile plus road bike rides and also as a hiking snack. Pretty good for on the go. As mentioned they are difficult to open, so if you want to eat while riding just pre-rip the packaging. They don't fall apart when crushed, which is nice. Depending on the flavor they can be a little too sweet, but I use them all the time. Would give five stars but pure sugar only gets you so far before you need more substance.
These are pretty yummy treats, but very sugary and sweet. Be prepared for that. Don't compare these to something like Clif Bars. Note that they can be a little hard to open.
If only the package were easier to open. They taste good, but the seam on the package can be a tooth extractor trying to open. I cut the package open before I load them up in my jersey pocket.
These are awesome...taste great, easy to stomach on long rides, and they gave Lance the energy and strength he needed to win all those races...
these things are great for on the road. small and good carb and sugar to keep moving. and i am pretty sure they don't have any dope in them.
