PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Kenda El Moco 26" Folding Tire

Brian Lopes wanted Kenda to make a tire that would roll fast and grip well for his style of riding: hard, fast and winning. The "El Moco" features unique round and rectangular shaped interlocked knobs for sure footed cornering and lightning quick acceleration. The center tread is open just enough for fast tread cleaning, but not so widely spaced to slow the tire down. On the side, taller knobs allow for more predictable cornering control at radical lean angles.

  • Large casing for better flotation, ramped center knobs for speed, and Brian's signature '55' molded into the knobs for a proven World Cup winning design
  • Available in Stick-E, DTC and UST versions
  • Front and Rear application

don't let price fool you - Aug 21, 2014

This tire is excellent for technical xc riding where cornering is crucial. I use it in the read with a knobbier tire up front but the Moca grabs really well when climbing, even up chunky rocks. Excellent rolling resistance for a tire that has so much traction.

Great Tire, Great Value - Jun 11, 2014

I recently put these on my Ellsworth Epiphany (2.35 in the front and 2.1 in the real). The tires roll great while climbing and corner well on the way down. I'd highly recommend these tires, especially at this price.

Bummed they are clearancing these out. I prefer a more dense tread pattern I am surprised they roll so well. I love the 2.35 stik-e and 2.1 DTC rear. I guess I will have to find them somewhere other than Price Point unless all the great reviews convince them to keep the El Moco's in the catalog.

Kenda El Moco - Great value, great tire - Jun 11, 2014

I picked up the El Moco tires for my XC bike. They were on clearance at a great price that I couldn't pass up on (especially considering they are a folding bead tire, priced lower than lower end wire bead tires). I wasn't sure what to expect, as there were some conflicting reviews. I previously ran Kenda small block 8's. I have been out with the El Moco's a few times now, and have only good things to say about them. They roll fast and smooth on pavement and hard pack trails (I found my small block 8's to be a little faster, but they were worn down which may have helped), while providing plenty of traction everywhere else, including rock gardens and loose soil areas. The aggressive side knobs are a nice feature, as they aren't in contact when riding straight lines, but have a great bite when taking corners. Overall, I am very happy with the tires so far, and would recommend them.

Truly Unholy Grip - Jun 06, 2014

1 2 3 4 5

LARAMIE, WY

These Tires Have Unholy Grip: I run these at 40-50 Psi and they carve like a dream. Brakeless drifting with ease! in the upright position, tire rides loose. Throw the bike on edge, and you are pulling some serious gs. However, I have problems ripping side knobs off the rear after a couple of days of riding. (Been through 4 tires in 1 month) Running El Mocos in both front and back: Once the rear is toast, put the front on the rear, and a new one in front. I ride it on hardpack dirt, loose gravel, loam, roots, rock slabs, sand, whatever. The new 2.35s seem rather small to me, smaller than years previous at least. Buy this tire if your riding EMPHASIS is that quarter of a second where you have exceeded a turn's maximum velocity, drifting with both wheels, and would like to finish the turn with no problems. Just don't clip your bar ends on the ground...

great value - Apr 23, 2014

Ran this tire up front for more than 6 months - dependable and consistent traction. I think the manufacturing process could be refined as the tire was not quite symmetrical but it didn't seem to affect rolling much. Good value when you can find for under $30

El Moco - Sep 10, 2013

This tire set up well as a tubeless, but I found the rolling resistance to be a bit too high to use as a rear tire. Works better on the front

i was surprised at how well this tire climbed and cornered. Also it has great rolling speed. But the 2.35 dtc version is far too fragile for how hard you could ride this tire . The casing is very thin and the corner knobs tear off easily . Got lots of flats

Best rolling resistance/grip ratio I have found on an all around tire. My tire of choice for the past 2 seasons. Wether the soil is wet/mud or dusty/dry conditions. They just grip grip grip. It's basically a faster rolling nevegal. I prefer the 2.3 sticky-e since I like riding down as much as up the hill. Fun tire not heavy and very grippy. Again Great cornering and great grip on climbs.
