Kenda Nexcavator 26-inch Folding Tire
Designed by Eric Carter, for the rider who prefers a more open tread pattern, with the elimination of the transition knob and flattening of the center knobs for better terrain conformity.
Used the tire both on my front and rear for a little over a year for 10-20 mile/week rides. The grip level and wear seem reasonable (rear is getting to end of life), pretty good under braking, also feels pretty solid on steeper descents. This doesn't seem like a fast-rolling tire, it also likes to wonder quite a bit in the gravel and I had a couple of times where the front just washed out in the loose stuff without any warning - likely user error though... I got these free but for the full price there is probably a better value out there.
I typically use Nevegals for most trail riding, but when the dirt is looser or a bit muddy, the Nexcavators just seem to grip better. Recommended.
