A Look Inside Litespeed

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Litespeed L1 Ultegra Road Bike

Loaded with industry-leading frame and material knowledge, the Litespeed L1 is ready to perform right out of the box. The race-ready Shimano/Zipp/Easton component mix combines with Litespeed's premier process technology and historic ride-tuning to create a finely tuned, all-around racer.

Using Litespeed's own Continuous Cross-Sectional Morphology, it took four years to nail the L1's multiple asymmetric and shape-specific design. Then they incorporated state-of-the-art features including BB386 bottom bracket, 1.5 inch tapered frame, fork and ZS headset system. Litespeed's Quadrilateral System manages simultaneous torsional-frontal and lateral-load input from both road and rider, while asymmetric down tube/seat tube junction allows for efficient drivetrain energy transfer. Recently granted UCI- approval, the L1 is proof that achieving perfection can take time. We think it was worth the wait.

Can't believe I caught up with this bike. Was borrowing a buddy's 2012 Tarmac Mid Comp Tiagra before this and I was blown away. The other reviews I had read mentioned stiffness and heavy on turns but in comparison all I feel is fast. More of a definite racing posture but that can be fixed by leaving the steer tube just a little longer. About 100mi break in time for the cables on plenty of hills to work out the tension. Tires are slick so be careful on wetter roads. The carbon on this is sturdy. Don't let the brand and their lack of history with carbon fool you. As far as weight goes its comparable to any other Ultegra you would expect. When I picked it up from the FedEx location, the guy asked me if it was a whole bike or just a frame.
