Lizard Skins Fork Boots
Keep Trail Grit and Moisture Out of Your Forks with Lizard Skin's Fork Boots. Unlike Thin Stock Rubber Boots, Lizard Skins Won't Ride Up or Rip.
I was pleased with the design and construction of the product, but I have decided to remove them because I was concerned about them holding in any crud, and abrading my fork tubes. However, I installed them to protect my fork tubes during transport, or while working on my bike. If it was really easy and simple to install them, I would continue to do that. But it takes a few minutes to do so.
I have had this on my RockShox Darts without issue. They did get installed when the bike was brand new, and there was no way there was other grime there. I have not had the issue as the other reviewer. Took a few times to get it just right on install where everything stayed covered through the full motion. But I love it.
Picked up a set of these to help protect my nice front fork during winter night riding on the east coast. I kinda wish I hadn't. The velcro would come loose and dirt/grime/junk would work its way INTO the protector, where it would then grind against the fork tubing, scratching it. Kind of counter productive. Maybe they would work better on smaller diameter forks? I'm not sure. They seemed to fit rather tight on my TALAS 32, but maybe an entry level fork would be perfect for these. I'm not sure. But I'm certainly not using them again next winter.
