Used this on a new build and am very happy with it. Seems like newer Foxes have a lot of features I never seem to use, and the huge price tag to match. The Radium keeps it simple, but does it really well. Smooth, bottomless-feeling travel with a lockout if you need it. Also, Manitou's now using standard-sized mounting hardware, so a lot of your existing Fox & RS hardware will fit just fine.
I replaced a Specialized/Fox shock with this Manitou and it has not disappointed. Lockout works similar to features on Fox when you open it up to your desired 'open' settings. I have now upgraded my frame and plan to use this when servicing my primary shock because it works so well.
I am very happy with this shock. I purchased it to replace a Fox CTD, and it has been excellent. This is an inexpensive alternative to the Fox shock. It does not have the extra trail option but I have found it is not necessary. The lockout works great and makes the bike feel like a hardtail. The switch is large and easy to access while riding.
I had an older Manitou shock a Q3 this one rocks over the old one Im super happy with the lock out it cant be beat for the price and its built well feels solid did some three to four foot jumps with a solid feeling
I bought this to put on my 2009 giant reign x2 in replacement for a coil shock. The change was the best decision I've ever made. This shock works extremely well on any trail and it is even strong enough to hold up to some 5ft+ drops to flat. It's pedals performance is also unmatched. With the performance being so high and the price so low, I don't see why anyone wouldn't buy this.
I replaced my 7 YO Fox Float R with the Radium and the improvement is very noticeable. The ride is as plush but this takes bigger hits before bottoming at the same sag setting. The rebound ability when the rear wheel strikes objects seems very different and just clears stumps and such much better. It increases your confidence to do jumps you wouldn't have tried before. It also climbs more efficiently and you get a lockout feature as well so it is superior at all levels compared to my vintage Fox Float R. I can't recommend this enough for its performance and value.
