Showing Questions 1-5 of 5

Q: Can the 1.125 15mm thru 80mm of travel be adjusted to 100mm of travel? Thank you

A: The travel cannot be adjusted-converted on these forks.

Q: This fork always show up when I query for 1.18 inch steerer diameter. I am wondering if the there are still 1.18 inch non tapered in stock. Thanks!

A: I am sorry for the confusion. At the moment we are sold out the 1 1/8” version of this fork.

Q: what is the travel on the QR15 140 option?

A: The travel is 120mm.

Q: If the dropdown menu states QR -BUT NOT QR15- does that indicate it is a 9mm axle?

A: QR indicates a standard 9x100mm quick release. Unfortunately we no longer have this fork with QR15.

Q: will a "tapered" fork work on a bike that has a non-tapered fork installed? Would I have to buy a new Headset to allow for the tapered fork?

A: Unfortunately, a tapered fork will not fit in a straight 1 1/8" head tube. There is not an available headset to convert this.

Running this fork for about 200miles and no regrets. Took my bike from an entry level Rockhopper to a great trail bike. Don't let the price fool you into thinking this is a cheap fork. Great weight, response and adjustable. Would purchase again.

Smooth and simple - Apr 23, 2014

The ride is smooth and easily adjustable. Torsional stability is good for aggressive XC riding even with my standard QR hub. I would guess that the integrated axle version is even better. Maintenance is simple with only a single air adjustment valve to deal with.

The medium spring was to soft for me at 225lbs but after a x-firm spring was installed the fork works excellent. I bought the 120mm w/9mm axel for a hard tail 29er. Super smooth fork with a lot of adjustability.

Great fork I put it on a rip 9 and it has taken everything I have thrown at it. My buddy has an identical bike with a rock shox reba and this fork outperforms it. Hex lock takes some getting used to but performs well.

I replaced a 100mm Fox F29 with this in the 120mm version. I never really liked the feel of the Fox to begin with. The added travel combined with the plush feel of the Tower made the bike feel the way I've always thought it should.

Manitou Tower Pro 120MM Tapered QR - Apr 09, 2014

1 2 3 4 5

Las Vegas, NV

I have been on this fork for about two months now, and I absolutely love the fork! I rode a Manitou Drake for 2 years and this fork rides just as well! You will not find a better fork at this price range. I am on the QR fork and I have not had any issue with stiffness. I am around 155lbs so the factory setup was pretty spot on. You will want to keep in mind that a heaver rider may need additional tuning to get it perfect. But given the price point that's not hard to do. IF your on the fence, don't be. It's worth it.

Solid Fork! - Apr 09, 2014

Carrollton, CA

I've had this fork around 4 months now, and it is working amazingly. The lockout still locks completely solid, the QR15 method is super easy, once you dial in your air pressure (I'm 170 but I ride it hard so I keep mine on the highest recommended pressure for my weight) it rides just like you want it to with the adjustable rebound! No signs of damaging or weakening at all. I'm super stoked.

Great Fork! - Apr 09, 2014

1 2 3 4 5
5 out of 5 stars
oconomowoc, WI

This fork is great. I've not ridden too much on it but so far it sucks up small bumps incredibly well. I'm looking forward to using it during race season this summer and that will tell me more about how it takes bigger hits. I have mine set up on a SS. I have a 80mm travel fork so I'm curious to see how it will do with my larger size (I'm essentially a Clydesdale) 195-200lbs. but not on the Sasquatch end of size. I'll post another review once I get a couple of races into the fork regarding it's performance during a race. What I really love is the 15mm skewer! I noticed immediately how much more confident I feel now that the front end doesn't flex I noticed improved steering and front wheel tracking immediately. It's super easy to take out and put back in, with about 5 min of practice I was getting my front wheel off faster than any other 9mm skewer I've used. Stay tuned for an update in July/August.

upgraded my stock fork to this one. What a huge improvement! Perfect combo of strength and plushness. Super easy adjustments and would buy again before spending twice the money for other brands. Hopefully they hold up for multiple seasons.

Great Value - Apr 09, 2014

This is a little more plush than a Fox but I like it that way. There are also certain small adjustment features that I like on my Fox that this doesnt have but at half the cost, the Tower Pro 120 mm delivers big time.

Comparable with the big players, mostly - Dec 15, 2013

1 2 3 4
4 out of 5 stars
Rock, NJ

Pricepoint doesn't offer a 3.5 star rating which is fair, so I went with 4. The tower pro is a perfectly acceptable alternative to a major brand at an attractive price. Having owned a similar travel 29er Reba, Fox, and this fork within the last six months, I'd rate it less plush than the Fox but pretty comparable if not a bit better than the Reba. Lower speed hits are great, just aim the front wheel and it eats it. The fork will start to pack up going downhill on real choppy terrain but this is pretty common on most stuff I've ridden, just a matter of degrees. The adjustable damper seems to act more like a travel limiter than changing the action, but I find it useful even at that. It was easy to set up and I've stuck with the recommended pressure. The 15mm axle design is goofy compared to the simplicity of a Fox. Maybe a little flex on braking as mentioned. If you want to pay twice the price for a Fox you'll get more performance, but its a really effective unit for the price. Using it on a AM hardtail 29er.

I'm thrilled with this fork - Nov 29, 2013

1 2 3 4 5
5 out of 5 stars
Clifton Park, NY

This is probably the best bang-for-my-buck purchase I have made for a bike yet. I'm now glad that I managed to twice break my XC 28 fork that this replaced, as the difference is night and day, even when the XC 28 is working as intended. I have an XCR on my 26er, so I already knew the XC 28 was garbage, but I was extremely impressed by how much better this performs than the XCR I was reasonably happy with. The first day I had this on the trails, I was finding myself surprised an hour in when I'd jarringly hit something on the rear wheel with my hardtail because the front fork was doing such a good job of just rolling over everything. Definitely a great fork, and for the price, I am absolutely thrilled with it.

They should call it the Steamroller - Oct 03, 2013

1 2 3 4 5
5 out of 5 stars
JOHNSTOWN, PA

They should call this fork the "Steamroller" frankly because it flattens the bumps small and large. I built up my Lynskey Pro 29 with this fork from Price Point. I took a chance on the Tower Pro at 120mm well basically because I went over budget on the frame I chose. Was I worried, yes and no. I've had Manitou in the past and I really enjoyed them. But there was a ton of bad press out there from the past. So I had some concern...but the wallet will always dictate just how much concern I'll have over anything. So now that I'm closing out my first full season of East Coast Rocks, Roots, Mud, Steep punchy Climbs, and washed out fire roads, I will tell you this.....I LOVE THIS FORK. First thing I did was switch it to the Clyde spring kit....as I'm a Clyde. Now it was pretty good out of the box, but with the new Spring in there, wow Incredible. I can now run normal Air Pressure, 85-90 PSI and the thing eats everything I throw at it. I'm not sure I'll ever just auto think about buying a FOX again. I've set this thing up in March, played with air 3 times in April, and have been riding the same air same settings since. As for features, yeah the Fox has the CTD, which is a great thing...but this Manitou has the same thing.....dial it back and it's stiffer for hammering the trail while still having some play, dial it all the way back and she's Locked for the long climbs....open it up and she'll sing to ya down the trail. Seriously, what a pleasant surprise, and an awesome value. If you want to pay $700+ for a fork....go ahead, but this working class dad, is way cool with the under $400 performance of the Tower Pro.

Awesome 29er Fork - Sep 20, 2013

1 2 3 4 5
5 out of 5 stars
York, PA

I have this fork on a Transition TransAm 29 that I've been riding hard for 7 months. The fork is super low maintenance and easily adjustable to suit any terrain, riding style, or rider weight. There's even a chart on the back of the fork with how much air pressure you should run for your weight. Idiot proof. It took a little while to get used to taking off and putting on the front wheel with the thru-axle design but as long as everything is lined up right its really simple and works extremely well. I couldn't be happier with this fork and Manitou customer service is outstanding.

Awesome Fork - May 14, 2013

Blacksburg, VA

I've enjoyed my two seasons on this fork already. Took a bit for the X-firm spring I added to break in, but once it did the fork was perfectly plush. The adjustments are easy to make at home or on the trail. What made it really sweet was the price. Perfect for my 6'4", 220 lbs self. Highly recommended.

Tower Pro 100mm QR15 - May 14, 2013

1 2 3 4
4 out of 5 stars
STATE COLLEGE, PA

This fork has performed really well for my intended purpose; Singlespeed build. The adjustments are easy and reactive, adding air pressure is a 'breeze'. The only thing really holding this back from being 5 stars is that the fork does flex a bit under hard braking. Some may not notice this but coming from a downhill background and having a large rotor up front I can definitely feel the flex. This may be somewhat characteristic of 29er forks in general but overall I can say it is a great fork for the price.
