The Crossmax Charge is all about grip and control. This is THE front wheel specific tire for enduro racing. Aggressive design for excellent braking and cornering. SCC rubber for tremendous grip and Guard² construction to ride at high speed with full confidence in any conditions.
I have about 100 miles on this tire a the time of review. This tire, mounted on novatec 650b wheels, comes in at 2.35", pretty close to true width. It is relatively tough to mount, but not problematic. The tire came almost straight, which is better than most of tire manufacturers. When ridden on loose terrain, this tire gives a very small initial slip, followed by a very trustable grab. On hardpack it seems to act almost the same. The side lugs are very predictable in how they hook up. The center lugs have more of a rear tire design, but are moderately fast rolling still. I did not test it in mud, but would highly recommend this if you are looking for a 27.5" free ride tire that can be used going uphills too (damn the snow, we want the lifts back). I am much happier with this than any other front tire I've tried recently (I compared this to a Kenda Nevagl, Bontagager something or another, and a Shwalbe Hans Dampf.)
