Fist ride done. My shoes are mostly 9 with an 8.5 once in a while. These fit great even with a bit thicker sock for a cooler day. Nice looking construction. Nice heel cup, and good traction off of the bike.
I have owned these shoes for over a year and they continue to deliver, showing very little wear (except that I have lost the “spikes” that screw in at the front.) These are considered a “Cross Country Race” shoe but I use them for everyday trail riding. They are just as comfortable and durable as any other shoe I have owned, and yet they are very light as well. They have a glass fiber insert which is stiff, though I would say it’s not quite as stiff as shoes with a carbon insert. I have a narrow foot and was able to go a half size smaller with these shoes. They do not slip in the heal and have a good amount of toe room up front. My only complaint with these shoes is the buckle. They ratchet just fine, but the release doesn’t seem to release quite enough and I sometimes have to tug at the strap to get it out. All in all, these are great shoes.
I've only used these on two rides, so I'm not done evaluating them. Overall I'm appreciating the lightweight and sturdy construction. They weigh near what my specialized road shoes weigh with clips. The toe box is wide enough, but the cam buckle strap is kinda short. I'm only able to get 2-3 clicks on it, which makes me wonder why it wasn't made a little longer. If you have narrower feet than this shouldn't be a problem for you. Hopefully they prove to be as durable as they feel in the long term.
Just got these today, threw 'em on and went for a ride. Wow!!! These shoes are great! I don't know if I've just been missing out on great shoes or not but the shoes I've been using for the last several years are a pair of Axo's that I bought from pricepoint and they've held up great but they feel like bags of lead compared to these. The fit of these Mavic's are spot on and the performance and stiffness/comfort are excellent as well. I believe they'll be great shoes for a great deal of time to come too. Buy. These. Shoes.
I got these a few weeks ago and have been very pleased so far. Good stable bottom that feels like a platform when clipped in. Works well with Shimano pedals. Comfortable foot bed and the ratchet strap really helps to crank down on the tightness to get them nice and snug. Would recommend to anyone looking for an entry level shoe to make the transition to clipless.
