I have used Maxxis brand tires on every bike i've owned to date and i recently upgraded to a 29'er. Decided to make a jump from my 2.2 up front to the 2.4 and I couldn't be more happy. Climbs and grips like a beast running the corners so fast. Allows me to get a deeper angle on the curves. Also, tires wear very good. I ride trails that are mixed between hardpack, wet, big rocks, roots and everything in between and i've had them on my bike for about 7 months and im just noticing the outer nobs starting to fall apart. Will be picking another one up very soon.
This just might be the best tire i have ever used. After test riding a couple of bikes in moab that had these tires i got a set of my own. They aren't really anything special on the climbs but they get the job done well. cornering is where they truly come alive and provide more grip than you could ever need.
