Maxxis Crossmark Folding 29x2.1 Tire

Maxxis Crossmark 29-inch folding tire is the dramatic evolution of the cross country racing tire. The nearly continuous center ridge flies on hardpack, yet has enough spacing to grab wet roots and rocks. The slightly raised ridge of side knobs offers cornering precision never before seen on a tire this fast. So let go of those brakes and and ride like you were meant to ... fast and agile.

  • Fast rolling center ridge - front or rear
  • Raised side knobs for better cornering

FAST Tire - Jun 07, 2014

I use this tire for riding and racing XC and out of all of the tires I have tried, this is the best performing rear tire. Not the lightest race tire, but the balance of grip and speed is unmatched. If you are looking for super fast rolling speed on hardpack, this is your tire.

I put these on my 29er hard tail to replace the heavy stock wire bead ones, in a word .. grippy, another word .. fast rolling. these tires completely work my bike up . it climbs and rolls soo much better.

Great rear tire - Apr 30, 2014

I'm running these tires with a tubless set-up, great rear tire but I have it on front and back. Don't like it as a front tire, not the best grip when turning and sometimes rides up the inside bank. Fast rolling and good grip in the rear no complaints.

A perfect dry xc tire - Apr 28, 2014

These tires are perfect on dry, hardpacked conditions, which is what they were designed for. They also perform fine on rocks and loose-over-dry. Once you run into any mud or gravel you will find out where they don't perform so well.

Maxxis Crossmark 29x2.1 Tire - Apr 23, 2014

Excellent tire for hardpack, loose over hard. Mounted easily tubeless on Stans Arch rims and sealed up with only a floor pump. Very little rolling resistance. I run one in the back with something a little more aggressive in the front. Have not had sidewall issues. Wear has been minimal so far in half a season. Loving this tire! Will definitely buy again, and recommend to friends.

I love these tires and have used them on 3 different bikes on very different terrains including roots and loamy soil in NC and now in the foothills of Denver. No issues to speak of. Great price too.

Great XC racing tire - Sep 26, 2013

OOLTEWAH, TN

This is one of my favorite tires hands down. I have been running these front and rear on my race bike for 3 seasons. I usually get about 14 months or so out of a front and 6-8 out of a rear and they could go longer I just replace them when the plus signs are gone on the center tread. I ride all over the southeast and the only terrain they don't do awesome in is really loose gravel and sloppy mud. One great thing is the are very predictable. They always break loose the same way and always hook back up so they are easy to trust. I know some people say the sidewalls are thin and easy to cut but out of 6 tires I have never had a problem and I ride a lot of rocks. Can't go wrong with this tire in my opinion.

Best all around XC tire. - May 30, 2013

This tire is wicked. It is extremely fast for racing hardpack, climbing up wet stuff, and corner really well. I had no difficulty mounting this tire tubeless and it has worked wonders for me. This is definitely my go to tire.
