Maxxis Minion Freeride Single Ply Folding Tire
Team Maxxis rider Colin Bailey Designed the Minion for his own use in the NORBA DH season. Directional ramped knobs come in both a front & rear specific tire.
The DHF front tire incorporates ramped knobs for low rolling resistance and channel cut knobs to increase gripping edges giving straight line control & precise cornering.
The DHR rear tire ramped knobs like the DHF, but channels in the knobs are designed for braking and accelerating.
The single ply Minion DHF and DHR have the same tread pattern as the heavier, more robust 2 Ply version. The difference is they're lighter and faster but can't withstand the same amount of punishment as their 2 ply cousin.
This is the skinniest tire I have ever seen listed as x2.35. It is much skinnier than the Kenda Nevgal in the same size and much smaller than Schwalbes Mudy Mary. The side walls are very thin as well. I would rate this as a cross country tire and leave it at that. If you are a true DH/Freerider this tire will not work for you!
