NINER TECHNOLOGY

For every model, whether it's their lightest cross country hardtail or the burliest full suspension bike, Niner consideres how each angle or length will interact with big wheels to affect the finished build.

Rather than just offering the same carbon products, Niner makes sure they are maximizing the benefits of the material so that their carbon products are purpose-built from the ground up.

The basic concept of the larger diameter is simple: it will keep your wheels on top of oncoming obstacles. Rather than riding IN the terrain, you'll be riding ABOVE it, gaining more control and stability on even the roughest trails.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Niner AIR 9 RDO Price Point Pro Build Shimano XT/Easton Bike

Here at Price Point we are doing everything we can to make sure your dream bike is within reach. Using our knowledge of the industry and volume pricing, we have created a build that saves money everywhere possible without skimping on quality to create this incredible value.

The Air 9 RDO is a thoroughbred – a no-nonsense instrument built for speed and performance. An extension of Niner's form-follows-function philosophy, no curve is out of place on the newest Niner. And while looks are important, true attraction begins as soon as you push on the pedals and the Air 9 RDO goes flat out.

The Air 9 RDO is specifically intended as a geared racing bike. With this in mind Niner referred to the purposeful lines of the Air 9 Carbon but reduced diameters and trimmed profiles throughout. Compared to the CYA bottom bracket shell of the Air 9 Carbon, the smaller PF30 shell of the Air 9 RDO suggested smaller junctions and negated the need for an alloy insert. The rear brake mount is tucked inside the curving stays to distribute twisting forces evenly, permitting smaller caliper mounts and decreased wall thicknesses. Even the headset races in the headtube are molded carbon - they shaved grams wherever they found them. The net result? A 1125g Niner frame that is going to knock your socks off.

  • Tapered headtube
  • Niner’s proven hardtail geometry
  • Optimized for 80 to 100mm suspension forks
