Ok for soft padding - Sep 23, 2014

1 2 3 4
4 out of 5 stars
Baltimore, MD

Ultimately these pads are best for soft or flat dirt falls. They do OK keeping minor abrasions from happening as well as to keep your elbows and shins protected from branches and close brushes with trees on high-speed sections, or the occasional pedal slip. But they are NOT going to protect you during a heavy crash. The Honeycomb is very soft and during any large spill you have on rocks or roots, you’ll just have a honeycomb impact marks where your pad is. Ok for the average trail rider, but if your off’s generally happen at high speeds and on rough terrain, look for hard plastic. Rated these a 4 star because the buyer should know going in that these are not hard armor. And for what they are, they do a good job. Very light feeling and don’t slip on long hot days. Kind of a pain to get off after a hot ride, but that’s seems about standard for slip-ons
