The VPD Joint VPD 2.0 Knee is a multipurpose knee protector that offers a high level of protection and great freedom of movement. VPD adapts to the shape of the body, but when exposed to impact, the material stiffens and has extreme impact absorption properties.
XC Rider. These are probably more protection than I need, but I do like my knees intact. I crash more than I should and these have been amazing. No damage, no pain. They fit great and stay in place. They do get a little hot on long climbs and rub /just a bit/. I push them down by my ankles until I get where I'm going. I'd buy them again.
I've been using my POC VPD 2.0 for 7 months now and I love them. They don't ride up or down. They don't chafe and they don't restrict your pedal stroke. After two rides, I honestly forget that they are on. The reviews said they are too hot. Well, I wore them all summer through south Texas heat (up to 109 degrees). I raced in Laredo TX wearing them. You do feel the heat, but nothing unbearable. I've taken two or three falls and without a scratch to me or the pads. I machine wash them every weekend and they still hold up. I bought them after suffering a gash on the knee exposing the knee cap that had me off the bike for 1.5 months. I'm actually faster now that I wear them due to the added security and increased confidence on the trails.
