If you're tired of running to your local bike shop every time you have a mechanical issue. This book will walk even the beginner cyclist through just about any repair or installation. I especially love how it tells you what tools you'll need before you even start the job.

The Big Blue Book is a must have for the beginner and more advanced diy'er. It gives very detailed info for a lot of different brands of components. In the back it has manufacturer specific torque values. I would definitely recommend this. I went from knowing almost nothing about bikes to repairing a used road bike to full working condition. If you feel you are not very mechanically inclined you may want to buy a more basic book as well.
