Park Tool MLP-1 Master Link Pliers
Many derailleur chains use a "master link" that allows the chain to be installed and removed by hand. While this type of master link doesn't require a traditional chain tool, over time, dirt and corrosion can make it difficult to separate by hand. MLP-1 Master Link Pliers make removal and replacement of these master links quick and effortless. To use, squeeze side plates together, insert the specially sized jaws into the master link and squeeze the handles.
I love how the master link was supposed to be this tool-free wonder and yet now there are a bunch of different tools to deal with it. This tool solves the problem that the master link created. It's good.
Put simply, 10-speed quick links are a pain in the ass to unlock. This makes quick work of a quick link - 9 or 10-speed - without any fuss.
These pliers are made with a very specific purpose in mind, and they excel at that specific use. I use them with SRAM Powerlink Gold 9 Speed links, and they work great.
Great for intended purpose. Pricey, but they work well.
This tool is great for removing master links definitely makes it much easier. I would wish that it was more portable for when your out on trails because that is where you need it most but it also is fine tool that makes life a lot easier.
