I'm 5' 11", 175. The LG/XLG version fits me perfectly. The medium would definitely be too small. I'm not a fan of long shorts/bibs and I like the option of just shedding the leggings as the temp goes up during a longer ride. No problem with them slipping. I wear them over my shorts at the thigh as I think they would chafe if under the shorts. A more aero option than pants/sweats. Which is a good thing given that the wind resistance my riding speed tends to tear most clothing from my body.
Bought these this year for sprig time riding in NH. I've used these at temps down to 30F and still stay warm.
For "shoulder season" riding (winter/spring, fall/winter), these are great. I have short legs and they don't fall down while riding. You can either pull your shorts over them or overlap these over and they will slide down a little but seem to stop at the elastic on the shorts. Never had to stop and pull them up and have worn them 4-5x. When it gets colder or in the snow, I switch to tights. Great for those really cold mornings on all day rides.
These warmers are the best way to keep your legs warm. They fit great and feel high quality and the value is excellent. Buy these for the cooler weather conditions. Keep shreddin!
I will start this with I am warm natured, and will be one of the last to bundle up. I hate riding in real pants on a mountain bike, and haven't found any that I love. I wear these with my shorts, and padded breifs, and love them. I rode fairly hard in sub 30 degrees, it was starting to snow and the sun was not out. So, most would find it cold. I was pleanty warm on my lower half with these on. I am fairly tall 6'3" to 6'4", and still find these to cover everything on my.
I'll be honest, I don't have a ton of money to throw around. I needed a good set of leg warmers for the fall, and these have impressed me so far. I've worn these down to the upper 40's and I'm fairly impressed.
I like riding in the evenings and it gets quite chilly and windy. These warmers work great and break the wind and keep your legs warm.
Used these in conjunction with bib shorts for winter mountain bike rides down to the 30s. Always warm enough, especially ten mins into the ride! Do slide down after a while, but not that big of a problem for the price and coverage down to your ankles/under the socks
So glad I picked these up for those cooler rides in the early am. Very easy to use and bought at a great price. Comes in handy so that you can still be wearing your standard biking shorts but yet need some additional warmth and protection from the elements. Great product and great value.
I really like these when the ride starts out cold and warms up later I just pull them off. Much better than full length tights when the weather changes, which in New England is all the time.
Great Leg Warmers for the price. Only used a couple times but do a good job the times I have used them!
I have been pleased with them. I like the feel of the fabric. I think they could have been shaped a little tighter around the knee (most brands are like this anyway), but they do the job and they're my go-to leg warmers in the spring and fall. I've found that leaving a bit of slack in the knee area as with any leg warmer to avoid slippage.
it is a great product. i am 5'11 and really ordered large and fit well. travelled to snow and run a 5k with them and never moved. the besr are individual warmers.
Weren't as thick as I expected but helped in temps down to 20 def F. They do slip down your leg but I kind of expected that, and it didn't bother me. More appropriate for fall/spring but I wore them in winter prior to getting a proper pair of cold weather bike pants. Still expect to be worn in cool not cold weather.
I live in Dallas tx I read the reviews and I did my trend we both boggy t me today 1/5/2014 we used them it was 30 degrees out with mild wind , these leg warmers let the wind right through and we're not that warm for the price there not bad and I will keep them for the days that are not too cold out but I need something thicker also they kept riding down my thighs not to bad but a little anouying
Used these for the first time today on a misty/rainy gravel road ride. They kept me warm and dry. They fit well and were comfortable. I noticed that they started to feel a little soggy after about an hour in the rain but I didn't expect them to be 'waterproof'. The zipper makes them easy to put on and off and you sure can't beat the price. The L/XL fits me very well and I am 5' 11" with tree trunk mountain biker legs. Highly recommended.
general they work as expected, i have ridden on 10F temperature and they keep you worm, you are not going to feel the wind. love them!!.. and very resistant fabric.
