After replacing my Sram x7 2x10 setup with these, I immediately noticed the stiffness of the crank arms and the ultra-smooth free-spinning feeling of this crankset. Feels awesome! Going to a 1x10, my bike lost 1.8lbs and it feels great! The first ride on my local trail, I did lose my chain once, but it was definitely my fault for not shortening my chain going from 36t to 32t. Also, I did not have a chain guide or bash guard on. I'd say it did extremely well first ride out considering how gnarly the bumps were. Fyi, my old Sram 2x10 setup (with chain guide) I would lose my chain at least once every ride. Absolutely recommended, great product!
Rode this crankset last weekend, and the chain stayed glued to the narrow-wide ring as promised. Great set for the $, and looks great too. The 30T ring with a 34 - 11 cassette on a Niner is a good fit for me. There's plenty of gear for huffing up a hill and just enough top speed for the flats.
I bought this to do a 1x10 on my 29er, and am quite happy with it. It's light and sturdy with no flex I can detect, and the NW ring does an excellent job of keeping the chain on. I'm using a zee shadow+ derailleur and haven't needed to add a chain guide. The only place I feel is lacking is the bottom bracket. It seems strong enough, but not the smoothest. I think it's a great choice for the price.
This was my first crank/BB from Raceface and I definitely stand by my purchase. The crank is both lightweight and super strong. The narrow-wide chain ring is awesome because it allowed me to run a 1x10 without a bulky chain guide. It also looks nice with the laser etching on the chainring and graphics on the crank arm. Installation was a breeze as well. I'm running a 32t with a 11-36 10speed cassette on 29in wheels and I don't feel like I'm running out of gears. I'm also running a Sram type-2 derailer which helps to reduce a lot of chain slap and keep your chain from running astray.
Just purchased these cranks for my Santa Cruz blur 4x. Looking to go to an enduro setup. Went to a 1x10 setup with Shimano xt drivetrain and it works great. Very stiff cranks as well as shaving a little weight. I went with the 34 tooth gear and it's perfect. Small enough to climb with just enough for those higher gears. Installation was very simple once you get the right bottom bracket tool. Just follow directions and it fits perfect. Have had raceface cranks and bottom brackets on all my bikes. Always strong and reliable. This is by far the best setup for my riding style.
