Get the famous Raceface name for a song and dance. 1. Easy to make into a 1x9 or 1x10. 2. No flex and pedals smooth. 3. Outer bearings at this price-nice. 4. Tough outer finish with those cool logos on the crank arms. 5. The pedal threads are machined really well and the pedal washer recess is there. 6. The chainring hardware paint doesn't suffer from the "permanent marker" look. It matches the overall finish and that is quality.

I was upgrading an old crankset and square taper bottom bracket. Looking for a quality setup that was budget friendly. Very impressed with the RaceFace Ride XC when it arrived. Adds a modern look to my old setup, does not look chincy, and was a piece of cake to install.

Just put this crank and bottom bracket on my Specialized Rockhopper. It is very good quality for the price. But one can never really go wrong with Raceface. I am running it with front and rear SRAM X9 derailleurs and a SRAM 8 speed cassette and chain. It shifts smooth and has no problems. The crank arms feel sturdy, we will see when I take my first couple of jumps how they hold up but I do not see any reason why they wouldn't. For a budget minded XC bike this crankset is the way to go.

great crankset and can be used on 10spd - Apr 03, 2014

I got this crankset for my XC bike I built a few months back. I wanted to keep the bike budget friendly but didn't want to sacrifice quality when doing so and these fit the bill. I opted for the 2 gears and bash guard option being as in the Pacific Northwest the 3rd ring becomes shrapnel after about the 5th ride. They are well built, ridged and come with everything you will need to get going. As I said in the title these will work just fine running a 10 speed cassette and derailleur in the back. I currently am running 9spd front derailleur up front and after taking one of the crank arms spacers out to get a perfect alignment everything works like a charm. Dont be fooled by others that you need anything more on your next XC bike.
