Ritchey WCS Shield 27.5x2.1 Tubeless Ready Tire
The Ritchey WCS Shield tire's low-profile tread and near continuous center knobs make for a fast rolling, race-ready tire. The Shield's confidence inspiring corning traction comes from the specific shape and placement of knobs developed using Ritchey's VFA (vector force analysis) process. Its low rolling resistance and superior traction create a great all around XC/Trail tire.
I'll start with the only con: these are narrow tires, they even seem that way before you mount them. Now to the good stuff: Fast, smooth rolling, sticky on everything but wet roots (what grabs on wet roots, anyway...), did I say smooth? I converted a Santa Cruz Superlight to 27.5 so these are my first 27.5 tire. After 8 months on them they've proven their usefulness. This is a light, 'racing' tire but I haven't had any wear or puncture issues to speak of. One thorn in the tread but orange seal quickly took care of that. They mounted up to my Stans Crest wheels quickly and haven't been off since. I give them 4 stars, would have been 5 if they were wider! Great tire doing what they're made to do.
