Royal Racing believes that most of the MTB gloves on the market today are "over-engineered" products that were initially designed for the motocross scene. This mantra has led the UK-based company to develop gloves specifically with mountain bikers in mind. As their base model, the Core is a prime example of this rider oriented philosophy. With a corded nylon and mesh back, the Core was made with materials that complement one another, ensuring a great fitting, lightweight, durable glove.
This glove does have a snot wipe--and it works quite well. I wrote the above review rather hastily after only limited use. I have grown to like this glove for extremely warm conditions, as it is feather-light and airy. If you are a Gripshift user, however, as I was for years, I suspect this glove will wear out quickly, as it is not reinforced in that high-stress thumb area.
Here in NC we have pretty humid summers. This glove is awesome, I barely knew I had it on. The glove is vented so well. It is like a second skin. The glove would be perfect for 70+ weather. Maybe lower depending on your tolerance. It HAS A SNOT WIPE! It is a microfiber cloth on the thumb. The fit of the glove is spot on. I ordered a L and was extremely happy. The only bad thing I would say is that if you took a hard fall, they could get ripped up.
Was looking to replace my Fox Incline glove in royal blue that has been my favorite XC glove of all time. Finally wore it out. This glove has a similar lightweight mess backing, but I am disappointed the palm. It is not form-fitted and is not reinforced in high-stress areas. I doubt this glove will last as long as the Fox. Also, no snot wipe, which I miss.
