This is a good derailleur for someone who doesn't want to spend a fortune on one. Mine has taken a bunch of hits from rocks and I've had to replace and re-bend my derailleur hanger, but the derailleur works fine. I've had to work on the indexing and the limit screws a bit more often than I would have liked, but now it runs fine.
This derailleur shifts smoothly and looks great on the bike.
I bought this for one of my boys, who is 12, and notoriously hard on his mountain bikes. He uses it with a grip shift, and it works perfectly. I can't imagine that a more expensive derailleur would shift better, or be more durable. It might be a few grams lighter, but I'm not really worried about that in this application.
Great derailleur for the price, works as good as more expensive models, great price, price point rocks!
