Showing Questions 1-2 of 2

Q: How do you select? Short, Med, or Long cage?

A: Proper cage length varies according to the drivetrain you are currently running. It is therefore very important to confirm drivetrain compatibility before choosing a specific cage length. In general, all 3x and some 2x drivetrains require the use of a long cage derailleur. For more information, please consult our customer service department or a professional mechanic at your local bike shop.

Q: I have a single chainring and a 11-36 tooth cassette. What length derailleur should I use?

A: This particular derailleur is compatible with an 11-36 tooth cassette and thus you can use any size cage you would like (short, medium or large) in a 1x10 setup, provided your chain is sized properly.

Short Cage has great clearance and nice precise shifts! At the time, this was the cheapest way into a 10speed drivetrain when coupled with the x7 rear shifter.
