Super smooth shifting, coupled with the x9 type 2 rear derailleur is one of the best upgrades I have done without breaking the bank. I have not dropped my chain ounce even when shifting up steep hills, I definitely recommend it.

Flying in the face of Keith Bontrager's aphorism, "Strong. Light. Cheap. Pick 2!"...the X9 shifter provides nearly the best of all three. Almost as light as the XO/XTR counterparts, and just as strong at less than half the price. Not to mention, it shifts fast and smooth, requires little adjustment and never has failed. Pair this panacea with the X9 derailluer and your choice of cassette (1070 11-36) and you will have a race-ready drivetrain that will cost around $200 that will suit all mountain, cross country or any other MB action. Five stars, two thumbs up!!!
