Q: The Sram website indicates there is a 9-speed rear shifter available in the x9 series. Will this 2x10 setup work on my 2x9 system? I can't seem to find any x9 9-speed rear shifters anywhere.
A: No, because the rear shifter in this set is designed to work with 10-speed drivetrains and is not compatible with a 9-speed group. We do have a SRAM 9-speed rear shifter (item 280 SRAXS2). Please note: SRAM front shifters are 2x or 3x specific.
Q: Will the this model replace my older (2011) front 3x9 Shifter?
A: These are 10 speed shifter. So you will want to make sure you charge everything to 10 speed if you are going to use these.
