Using a hybrid construction of steel and aluminum, SRAM managed to bring the weight down for its XG-1080 10-speed cassette to a shocking 240 grams. They achieved this remarkable feat of engineering by crafting each cog individually and holding them together with high-strength steel pins, thereby avoiding the use of a spider. When combined with SRAM's X-Glide technology, the finished product is not only extremely lightweight but provides smooth, crisp shifts every time.

I bought this for a friend for helping me fix my car. I was SHOCKED at how light and strong this Cassette is! It's literally half the weight of any cassette I've held! My buddy is running this cassette with an SRAM XO rear derailleur. He said the shifts are so buttery smooth and it almost doesn't seem like it's a mechanical system! All I know is that this is going to be one of my next upgrades! I know the cost is a bit on the steep side, but if you're a weight weenie and like a strong durable, SMOOTH, drivetrain, this cassette is a must!!!
