Schwalbe Nobby Nic Evo TR 26x2.25 Folding Tire
In a class of it's own, the Nobby Nic has been an all around favorite and serial winner of MTB races for years. Why? Nobby Nic is unbelievably versatile. The tread offers unbeatable control in a wide range of conditions and thanks to its compounding and construction it is light, fast and ready for anything.
Ive ridden this as a rear tire on a lot of root laden hard pack and powder sand. These tires are deceptively fast, much faster rolling than the tread pattern would have you believe, and probably faster than most if not all of my more aggressive treaded tires. They have average to above average traction in most environments with the right tire pressure. The problem I have is when running low pressures I am not a fan of higher pressures especially with how rooty the trails are here, and when run lower than 30psi they begin to show alot of issues. They squirm quite a bit in turns and you can hear them clawing for traction alot more than some other tires. They don't break free abruptly which is good but they definitely don't inspire confidence when ridden low either. Keep in mind I am under 185lbs fully geared up. Overall a nice tire but for the money I think there are better options.
