This is my first pair of mountain bike shoes. For $29 I couldnt go wrong. Previously wearing Nike Running shoes. These things are built very rugged. They were a little tight initially but I figured for $29 I would try them, after all they are a biking shoe not running shoe. After my first 10 mile ride in the woods, I can say these are great! They loosened up just a but and fit great. I like the hard platform as opposed to a soft flexible running shoe. Soles are pretty hard and gripped my platform pedals well. They have provisions for clip in pedals as well if I ever go that route. Nice shoes, especially for the price!
This is my single speed shoe for when I don't want to wear my $200 carbon pair. Good stiff sole for power, comfortable for 3 hr rides. My favorite part is the tread is rubber not plastic, good hike a bike shoe for single speed. Sizing is accurate. They are heavy, but for the price they are great deal. 200 rides and still working great
Very comfortable, rugged, durable mountain biking shoes. I also like the brown color and suede upper. The laces provide a better closure than velcro strap (IMHO), and the single velcro strap does a great job of keeping the laces under control and out of my chain. I ride rocky, rooty trails and these shoes are holding up great - now in their fourth season. I would definitely buy these shoes again - if they ever wear out.
Great shoe and value. The sole has more grip on slick rock and slippery surfaces than my cross country hard soled shoes. I needed something safer and more comfortable for hike a bike sections of slick rock and desert terrain. No issues with my 2 types of SPD pedals and fit.
