PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Sette Forza Race 105 Carbon Road Bike

As is the case with any bike, the most important component its frame. Nothing else will have a greater effect on the ride than its very foundation.

The Forza Race uses the exact same 3K High Modulus carbon fiber frame and fork as the Forza Pro and Elite models. The only difference is in the component selection.

Fitted to the Forza Race is a full Shimano 105 groupset. As any bicycle mechanic will attest, 105 is a highly functional component group that has Dura-Ace DNA at a fraction of the cost. Sure there's a marginal weight penalty, but if you really think it's enough to make a difference in getting to the finish line ahead of everyone else, you're simply not digging deep enough.

The wheels are Mavic Aksium capped with top-of-the-line Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CX tires. Sette's own quality components take care of the bar, stem, and an alloy seat post which is topped with a Fizik Arione CX Kium saddle.

Without pedals, a 57cm Forza Race weighs 17.68lbs.

Showing Questions 1 of 1

Q: I need to order this bike (or Vitale 1.O) with crankset 53/39? 50/34 is not good for me..Is that possible? what does mean in crankset specification: Shimano 105 5750 50/34 (51cm/90mm, 54cm/90mm, 57cm/100mm, 59cm/110mm) what is 90mm? BB width?

A: Both the Sette Forza Race 105 and Sette Vitale 1.0 come with 50/34 rings only. The 90mm, 100mm and 110mm measurements refer to the BCD—or bolt center diameter—of the chainrings on the crankset. You would need to know this measurement should you swap rings to ensure a proper fit.

I've been a mountain biker since the late 80's. But, buried deep within me is a road biker as my first "real" bike was/is (still ride it) a Raleigh 531 steel-frame with Shimano's 105 group set (the 2nd year in production) and the Biopace ring-set (yep... still have those too). I have put thousands upon thousands of miles on that bike. Eventually, my son adopted it and began training for long rides. He convinced me I should purchase a new road bike so we could ride and train together. After several months of research, I decided the bike for me was the Sette Forza Race. When it arrived, it only took a little time to assemble before I took it out for it's first spin. Since then, I have put a few hundred miles on it. Here are my thoughts: Wow! Holy cow... this a great bike! It is such a solid, stable comfortable platform to ride on. It accelerates as if the wind is behind my back and brakes nearly as good as my mountain bike (which has hydraulic brakes)! And... road chatter is a thing of the past. It rides so smooth! I'm tall (6'2") and weigh 200 pounds (Go Clydesdales!), so I ordered the 60cm bike. Because of a disability I have, I had to install a flat bar handlebar plus a set of Shimano trigger shifters (my left hand doesn't work... so all the shifters and brakes are operated by my right hand). I also installed Crank Brothers Candy 2 pedals (I know... but I like my Sette Enduro shoes WAY too much). The Mavic wheels are nice, true, good spinners, plus the Vittoria tires grip very well. I truly couldn't be any happier with this bike. And "Dang"... does it ever look good... awesome colors! The frame is beautifully contoured and not simply round tubes (something the pictures and video on Price Point doesn't show off). Oh... one more thing: it has the coolest sound when it gets up to speed. So, when considering everything about Forza Race (including the amount Price Point sells it at), this bike deserves FAR more than five stars.

Awesome - Jun 04, 2013

I agree with the prior reviews. This bike is amazing. As for price, most bikes with full carbon frame and 105 group cost at least $2000 and frequently more. And they didn't skimp on any of the components . . . Mavic wheels ($300+), saddle ($130), etc. The ride is amazing and like the prior reviewer says, it just makes you want to ride more often and longer. I have been riding a Specialized performance hybrid which was about 8 pounds heavier and had a problem keeping up with guys on performance road bikes. I knew a carbon bike would make a difference but was shocked how much faster I could ride on this bike. I took the Forza out for it's first run and scratched 15% off my prior best time! As for appearance, the website does not due it a justice. It looks sweet - the colors are great AND the frame is actually much more contoured than it appears (for example the top tube looks round in the picture but is actually shaped). As for size, I am 6'2" and ordered the 60 cm frame. I like a large frame and could have used one or two cm extra at most but it is still a great fit. As for geometry, I am a bit older and was concerned that the dimensions would be a little to "race aggressive." In fact I kept all the spacers on the headset and flipped the stem upside down. This provides for a more upright position and is more comfortable for longer rides. With these few adjustments, I am totally happy with the dimensions. I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to do so here (and I have no relationship with Pricepoint other than being a satisfied customer). I looked at a lot of options and the combination of price and quality cannot be beat.

More bike than I thought I would ever own - May 07, 2013

I bought this bike a few months after I started riding road bikes. It was also just a few months after my husband bought the Sette Primo 2.0. We love our bikes! They are super lightweight for this price. The carbon frame is very comfortable and forgiving. The power transfer is incredible. It takes just a few strokes of the pedals to really increase the speed. The bike is very easy to assemble. Basically, everything that you need to put on are items that you would have to adjust anyways: handlebars, seat. The style is superior to almost every bike that we see on the trails. This bike also comes equipped with a special magic feature - it has motivation. Motivation to ride. Motivation to ride faster. Motivation to ride further than you ever have before. Within six months of owning this bike, my husband and I completed our first 100 mile ride and we are looking for more. Contemporary styling, modern materials, and terrific components has made Sette our primary choice of bicycles.

Love this bike! - Mar 20, 2013

Ive been mountain biking for quite a while but this is my first road bike. I did a ton of research, subscribed to magazines, talked to bike shop employees, etc and at the end of the day kept coming back to this bike. I was really nervous buying my first road bike, let alone ordering online without riding or sizing. I went to local shops and rode several bikes that had nearly identical dimensions as the Forza race and it felt good. I compared the specs and this bike with a carbon frame and 105s is identical to most other bikes in the $3k price range. When I ordered the bike it came almost fully assembled and only took a little tweeking to get running. Ive put a couple hundred miles on it and really love it! The color scheme is definitly a plus too, looks even more awesome in person than on the website. Im writing this review for those that are on the fence ordering the Sette brand bike. I say go for it. I put a few Sette parts on my mountain bike build and they have always been solid as well. If your on the fence, save the money and get this bike or another Sette, you wont be sorry. Ken
