I was a skeptical about an off brand bike and online purchasing. However, after exhaustive research, I bought the X-9. I currently have about 2,500 miles on the bike and have been very pleased. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 rating is due to the Avid brakes, the lack of a chainstay protector, and the minimalist tires, which are to cut weight. I have ridden the bike hard with no problems. All my concerns about 29ers and carbon frames no longer exist. The bike is fast and smooth. I made a chainstay protector with an old tube, and replaced the grips and tires once they were too worn. If you are looking for a hardtail carbon 29er and are on the fence, don't give it a second thought. This bike was the same price as an identically spec'd mainstream bike with an alloy frame. Truth be known, all frames are probably made in the same Asian factories.
