The stand is a bit flimsy, and getting bikes secured and in and out is not as quick as it would be with a much more expensive stand. That said, it folds up quickly and is light and compact, it does what it needs to do, and for what I paid for it, I am definitely satisfied. Don't expect a $300 stand, but it's a great stand for the price.
I considered 4 stars because the stand seems just a bit flimsy, but after using it many times for simple tasks so far it definitely gets 5 stars. Reasons why, it folds down very compact, it's very easy to set up and take down, it's easy to adjust, and it's very affordable. This is the best tool for working on a bike I've purchased. It makes simple takes that were a pain to do with bike on the floor into a breeze. Cleaning a chain, tuning derailleurs, removing wheels, changing components is made easy with this stand.
I bought this recently and had no issues. All I can say is that it does its job. There is a little play in the neck teeth but it hasn't been an issue. Overall it's very good for the price.
I got this stand on sale for $80. When I pulled it out of the box I was surprised at the ease of setup due to quick release skewers it utilizes through out the stand. After reading other reviews I immediately tightened the Allen bolt on the swivel head. So I encountered no issues with bike movement while working on my bikes in any position. All the quick release joints work smooth and with no issues. So setting the stand up or putting it away takes mere seconds. I like how stable it is while working on my bikes. Also the stand was fairly lite. In summary, is the stand Park Tool quality, NO. But it's also not Park Tool price and for the average home mechanic such as myself it gets the job done, and done well with no fuss. Now I can use the hundred I saved and replace broken parts!
I do not like the plastic teeth that keep the bike clamp from rotating. It slips every so often and I have to tighten it by removing the handle on the back and use an allen wrench. That part feels cheap. HOWEVER, I have had NO other complaints with this stand. for the price that issue can be overlooked. I have my bike on the stand most of the time and have used it for countless repairs. Easy to set up and fold down. Definitely a good buying choice. Just note that you might need to tighten the bike clamp rotation head when the stand shows up, otherwise the teeth will be very loose and grind each other under the weight of your bike.
Awesome portable stand. I use it to storemy MTB as well to my little kids dontknock it over. Works very well to do all jobs. I've changed all componets on my bike using this stand. Why pay more when this works very well, and its portable.
